Zeal has made its online games available in Germany.

Players can access the new online games through the web shops of its subsidiary Lotto24 AG.

The licence to run online games was given in April by the Joint Gaming Authority of the Federal States (GGL).

Additionally, the subsidiary Zeal Instant Games has made its portfolio available to independent service providers including Lotto Hessen and American full-service lottery operator Park Avenue Gaming.

Zeal also intends to increase the number of games by up to 200 by the end of 2023.

Helmut Becker, Zeal CEO, said: “The German licence enables us to create entirely new gaming experiences. Our determined investments in this business are now paying off.

"Zeal’s clear focus remains online lottery brokerage. With online games, however, we now have another product area that should quickly gain weight.”

Julian Tietz, Zeal Instant Games Managing Director,Free games said: "We are aware of the risk for players of addiction. That's why our clear claim is: we want to offer the highest standard of legal and safe gambling and nothing else; whether in lotteries or online games.

"That's why we go beyond regulatory requirements in online games and work with innovative AI applications, among other things, to maximize security for our players."

On receiving the German virtual slot games licence in April, Becker then said: "With this licence, we reach an important milestone in our business strategy. We are convinced to be able to offer interested customers out there a great portfolio and new gaming experience."

Tietz added: "Online games are becoming increasingly important and have established themselves in the international lottery and gaming industry. We are proud to finally offer our games in Germany after successful international collaborations."
